Title
Commending and thanking Alderperson Shiva Bidar-Sielaff for her dedicated and conscientious service during her tenure as President Pro Tem of the Madison Common Council.
Body
WHEREAS, Alderperson Shiva Bidar-Sielaff was elected by her peers to the office of President Pro Tem of the Madison Common Council on April 19, 2011 for the 2011-2012 term; and,
WHEREAS, Alderperson Bidar-Sielaff met weekly with Mayor Paul Soglin, his staff and Common Council President Lauren Cnare to actively discuss important and pressing city issues; and,
WHEREAS, during her term as Common Council President Pro Tem, Alderperson Bidar-Sielaff served as vice-chair of the Common Council Organizational Committee and also served on the Alcohol License Review Committee, Board of Education-Common Council Liaison Committee, City-County Liaison Committee, Community Development Block Grant Committee and the Joint West Campus Area Committee; and,
WHEREAS, Alderperson Bidar-Sielaff was a true partner in leadership, sharing enthusiastically in responsibilities and communication, and providing counsel and support with thoughtfulness and wisdom; and,
WHEREAS, Alderperson Bidar-Sielaff met the demands of her extra duties with diligence and commitment; and,
WHEREAS, Alderperson Bidar-Sielaff, in addition to serving in a leadership role, ably represented the 5th District by promptly addressing her constituents' concerns and issues,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and members of the Madison Common Council commend and thank Alderperson Shiva Bidar-Sielaff for her dedicated and conscientious service during her tenure as President Pro Tem of the Madison Common Council.
