Honoring Mr. Mike Vega for outstanding civic action.
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Madison encourages all its citizens to uphold community standards; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Mike Vega demonstrated to us all what being observant and thinking of others really means; and
WHEREAS, we believe that public safety depends not just on the efforts of our law enforcement officers but also on a spirit of collaboration and partnership between law enforcement and our community; and
WHEREAS, we are grateful to Mr. Mike Vega for his quick thinking and prompt action in finding a child in need and personally ensuring that the child was delivered to safety and that police officers were alerted; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Common Council on behalf of the entire City wish to encourage good citizenship and wish to foster a culture of caring in our community;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Madison honors and applauds Mr. Mike Vega for his outstanding civic action to protect and rescue a child in need.
