Fiscal Note
This one-year Agreement provides a City contribution of $93,886 (a cash contribution of $16,886 and donation of base agency costs of $77,000). The 2012 Adopted Room Tax Fund Budget anticipates costs of $96,075, an amount equal to the City’s total 2011 contribution.

Body
WHEREAS, on June 18, 1996, the Common Council of the City of Madison adopted Resolution No. 53,322, authorizing a partnership between the City and MFF (collectively the “Parties”) to furnish a safe and enjoyable celebration of our nation’s Independence Day at Warner Park in the City of Madison; and,

WHEREAS, each year since the adoption of Resolution No. 53,322, the Parties have partnered to provide Madison area residents and visitors with an Independence Day celebration commonly known as Rhythm & Booms at Warner Park in Madison (the “Event”); and

WHEREAS, on November 9, 2006 the Parties entered into the “Agreement Between the City of Madison and Madison Fireworks Fund, Inc. (Rhythm & Booms)”, a five-year agreement between the Parties relating to the Event that expired on July 31, 2011; and,

WHEREAS, both the City and MFF wish to continue, for 2012, their long standing successful partnership that has made Rhythm & Booms a signature event for the City and the Madison area, and one that furnishes a safe and enjoyable celebration of our nation’s Independence Day; and,

WHEREAS, the City agrees that on the day of the Event, MFF may use Warner Park to conduct Rhythm & Booms, consistent with the terms set forth in the attached “Agreement Between the City of Madison and Madison Fireworks Fund, Inc. for the 2012 Rhythm & Booms Event,” including, specifically, that the City will contribute $16,866 as a financial contribution to the MFF, as well as supply up to $77,000 in municipal services f...
