Authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to enter into agreements with the State of Wisconsin Department of Transportation, Dane County, Village of Shorewood Hills and City of Middleton for the reconstruction of University Avenue (CTH MS) from Allen Boulevard to Segoe Road.

Preamble: Plans, specifications and schedule of assessments for University Avenue Reconstruction Assessment District-2012 were previously approved under RES-11-00675, ID No 23196, on August 2, 2011. Since that time the estimated project costs have been increased and the City of Madison's share has been revised. The agreement with the State of Wisconsin Department of Transportation for cost sharing defines the terms under which the City is awarded Federal funds and the agreement requires that the City indemnify the State of Wisconsin Department of Transportation. City APM 1-1 requires Common Council approval whenever the City indemnifies another party.
BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute agreements with the State of Wisconsin Department of Transportation, Dane County, Village of Shorewood Hills and City of Middleton for the reconstruction of University Avenue (CTH MS) from Allen Boulevard to Segoe Road
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Common Council approves indemnification of the State of Wisconsin Department of Transportation as set forth in the agreement in order to use federal funds for University Avenue
