User fees associated with the Training Center will be included in the Police Department's Operating Budget, beginning in 2012.

Authorizing the Chief of Police to establish Training Center use fees and to execute Space Use Agreements with other law enforcement agencies, governmental organizations, or groups with law enforcement affiliations for use of the City of Madison Police Training Center located at 5702 Femrite Drive, for the purposes of training.
Body
WHEREAS, the Police Department has purchased, remodeled and constructed space located at 5702 Femrite Dr. for the purpose of providing law enforcement and related trainings; and,
WHEREAS, the Training Center has the ability to host multiple training activities simultaneously; and,
WHEREAS, the Training Center will have the ability to operate 24/7; and,
WHEREAS, other area law enforcement agencies have expressed interest in leasing space from the City of Madison Police Department for use of portions of this Training Center; and,
WHEREAS, a marketing plan was developed by the Madison Police Department to include a set fee structure for space rental.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Chief of Police is authorized to establish and modify Training Center space use fees as provided herein and to execute Space Use Agreements with other law enforcement agencies, governmental organizations, or other group with law enforcement affiliations for use of rooms, including the indoor range, and/ or lands around the City of Madison Police Training Center located at 5702 Femrite Dr., Madison, WI, for the purpose of providing law enforcement and related trainings subject to the following terms and conditions:
1. The template space use agreement form and any modifications thereto shall be reviewed and approved by the City Attorney and Risk Manager.
