City of Monona shall cover all construction costs except for the two required taps on the Madison system. All Madison Water Utility costs to be covered by labor, equipment and materials.

Authorizing the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute an emergency water system interconnection agreement with the City of Monona for the purpose of mutual aid and assistance in case of an emergency (Citywide).
Body
WHEREAS, Madison Water Utility and the City of Monona are both tasked with the responsibility of providing a reliable drinking water supply to the citizens of the City of Madison; and
WHEREAS, Monona and Madison have negotiated an equitable agreement to provide emergency support to the neighboring water systems through physical interties; and
WHEREAS, Monona and Madison have negotiated operating and cost terms of this arrangement; and
WHEREAS, this agreement for mutual aide and support in the form of a backup water supply interconnection has been drafted and accepted by all parties,
Now, therefore, be it resolved that the Common Council of the City of Madison authorizes the Mayor and City Clerk to execute a water system emergency intertie agreement with the City of Monona.
