Commending Jeffrey J.J. Ekola on his retirement from the City of Madison after 25 years of exemplary service.
WHEREAS, Jeffrey J.J. Ekola began employment with the City of Madison on November 18, 1986 as a Real Estate Agent 3 in the Real Estate Section of the Community and Economic Development Unit within the Department of Planning and Development; and
WHEREAS, Jeff has been responsible for acquisition of land required for City infrastructure projects that contribute to the quality of life and economic development potential of the City of Madison; and
WHEREAS, Jeff has reviewed hundreds of preliminary and final plats and certified survey maps to ensure that they meet State land division statutes, City ordinances and ensure the quality of title of the City's real estate assets; and
WHEREAS, throughout his career with the City Jeff performed his responsibilities with dedication to the ethical principles of civil service and to the high level of quality expectations of the citizens of Madison; and
WHEREAS, his fellow employees recognize the professionalism and personal qualities exemplified by Jeff and his contributions as a team player; and
WHEREAS, while his puns won't be missed, his optimistic outlook on life, love of family and country will continue to be a positive influence on those who had the privilege of working with him.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Common Council of the City of Madison commend Jeffrey J.J. Ekola, Real Estate Agent 3 on his retirement from the City after 25 years of exemplary service, thank him for his dedicated service to the City of Madison and its citizens and wish him all the best in his retirement.
