Fiscal Note
Total funding of $1,750,000 (including $950,000 in Federal TIGER II grant funds) for this project has been included in the 2011 Adopted Capital Budget of the Department of Planning & Community & Economic Development (DPCED), Project No. 25, "Public Market Square Planning," Account No. 810707. This Resolution authorizes the expenditure of $24,000 for an extension of the contract with George E. Austin (dba, AVA Civic Enterprises) for project director services.

Body
WHEREAS on January 11, 2011, the City of Madison entered into a contract for purchase of services with George E. Austin (dba, AVA Civic Enterprises) - for project director services for the Judge James E. Doyle Square Master Planning project; and,
WHEREAS there is a need to extend this contract for an additional period (June 1 through October 31, 2011), in order to continue to direct the work of the City master planning team and the consultant team of Kimley-Horn & Associates, Inc. (as authorized by resolution ID 22910); and,
WHEREAS concurrent with the extension of this contract, the City of Madison will issue a Request for Proposals (RFP) for additional project director services for the later phases of the Judge James E. Doyle Square Master Planning Services consultant contract (to occur after October 31, 2011), and additional planning and implementation activities with project partners.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Madison extends the contract with AVA Civic Enterprises for project director services until October 31, 2011, for a fee not to exceed $24,000, and authorizing the Mayor and the City Clerk to sign any necessary agreements.
