Madison Gas and Electric (MGE) will be installing a new underground electrical line along Portage Road, Hayes Road, and Anniversary Lane. This new line will be installed on the west side of Portage Road, near the intersection of Hayes Road; on the southwest side of Hayes Road, from Portage Road to Anniversary Lane; and, on the north side of Anniversary Lane, west of Hayes Road. This work will begin in July 2011 and will be completed in August 2011.
A public hearing for this project will be held before the City of Madison Board of Public Works at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 in Room 108 of the City County Building, 210 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
The new electrical lines will be installed by MGE and KS Energy Services in accordance with the City’s standards and in compliance with a Permit to Excavate in Public Right-of-way. This line will be installed using a directional drill to minimize disruption to the site.
All terrace restoration will be done as required by the Permit to Excavate in Right-of-way.
