Fiscal Note
The grant would fully fund the costs associated with participation in the patient tracking pilot program. No additional appropriation is required.
Title
Approving the acceptance of a Homeland Security patient tracking grant  if awarded by the Wisconsin Office of Justice Assistance for the Madison Fire Department.
Body
The Fire Department has applied  and may be accepted for a grant for patient tracking which will cover supplies and equipment for some of our EMS ambulances.  This funding is part of phase II of the State Patient Tracking Pilot Program. The Patient Tracking Program allows emergency responders, hospitals and health care providers  in multiple victim/casualty incidents to coordinate/track victim care and status.  The grant award period is June 1, 2011-May 31, 2013. The City has not yet received an award notice.
 
Budget funding for this grant is $12,500 and assigned to following account numbers:

WHEREAS, the City of Madison wishes to participate in the pilot patient tracking program.
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Mayor, City Clerk and other necessary City officials are authorized to execute any necessary award documents.
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council approves acceptance of the grant and grant budget.
