DRAFTER'S ANALYSIS: The proposal changes the license year for solicitor’s and canvasser’s permits from July 1 to June 30 to a calendar year basis. This proposal is introduced at the request of the Madison City Clerk.

The Common Council of the City of Madison do hereby ordain as follows:
1. Subsection (11) entitled “Expiration of Permit” of Section 9.14 entitled “Solicitor’s and Canvasser’s Permits” of the Madison General Ordinances is amended to read as follows:
“(11) Expiration of Permit. No permit shall be issued for a longer period than one (1) year except permits issued between July 1, 2010 and June 30, 2011, shall expire on December 31, 2011. All annual permits issued under the provisions of this ordinance shall expire at midnight on the thirtieththirty-first (30th31st) day of JuneDecember in the year when issued. Other than annual permits shall expire at midnight on the date specified for expiration in the permit.”
