The Resolution amends the Community Development Division (CDD) 2011 adopted operating budget to reallocate a portion of Department of Energy grant revenues toward the creation of 2.0 FTE Limited Term Grant Administrator 1 positions to administer the grant. Funding for the LTE positions will be paid for by grant revenues. The estimated cost of each 1.0 FTE Grants Administrator 1 LTE (CG-RG, 18-06) for the remainder of 2011 is an estimated $31,000 in salary, plus $13,000 in benefits, or a total of $44,000 for each position ($88,000 in total). The CDD 2011 adopted operating budget shall be amended as follows:

Body
In 2010, the City of Madison was awarded $7.2 million by the Department of Energy. These funds are to be used for residential and commercial energy retrofits. In order to respond to this award the Community Development Division is asking to add 2.0 FTE Grant Administrator 1 positions (CG - RG: 18 - 06) on a limited term basis for the length of the grant.

WHEREAS, the City of Madison has been awarded a $7.2 million Department of Energy grant; and

WHEREAS, the grant is administered by the Community Development Division; and

WHEREAS, additional staff resources are required to administer the grant; and

WHEREAS, grant monies will be used to fully support expenses associated with staff and other resources for grant administration.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council approve the creation of 2.0 FTE Grants Administrator 1 LTE positions (CG-RG, 18-06) to administer the Department of Energy grant monies.
