Title
Requesting approval to hire Burse Surveying & Engineering to provide survey and engineering consultant services to provide topographic survey, property survey, relocation order maps and legal descriptions for the Capital City Bike Path, Buckeye Road to I-39, Project No. 53W1242.  (16th AD)
Body
WHEREAS topographic survey is needed to complete the detailed planning and design of the  extension of the Capital City Bike path from Buckeye Road to  I-39, for which funds were budgeted in 2011; and
 
WHEREAS property or easement acquisition is anticipated and property survey, legal descriptions and Relocation Order maps are needed to complete this; and
 
WHEREAS  City Engineering published a request for competitive proposals for this work; and
 
WHEREAS a selection committee within Engineering reviewed the seven proposals received and evaluated them on the basis of both qualifications and cost; and
 
WHEREAS the committee selected the proposal submitted by Burse Surveying & Engineering represented the best combination of qualifications and low cost in accordance with City policy and Madison General Ordinances;
 
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council hereby authorizes the Mayor and City Clerk to enter into a contract for purchase of services, in a form to be approved by the City Attorney, with Burse Surveying & Engineering to provide the surveying and Relocation Order mapping services required for the design of the Capital City Bike Path from Buckeye Road to I-39.
