City of Madison Plan Commission Resolution Honoring Judy Bowser

WHEREAS Judy Bowser was first appointed to the City of Madison’s Plan Commission in 1996; and
WHEREAS Judy previously served on the Madison Common Council from 1983 to 1986 and again from 1989 to 1993; and
WHEREAS while serving on the Common Council and Plan Commission Judy also served on many City boards, commissions and committees; and
WHEREAS Judy has provided an invaluable service to the citizens of the City of Madison; and
WHEREAS Judy could always be relied upon as a reasonable and rational voice during the review of development projects, treating both applicants and citizens with the utmost respect; and
WHEREAS Judy, through her work on the Commission has guided the preparation of numerous plans and policies including neighborhood development plans for new neighborhoods on the edge of the City, neighborhood plans for existing neighborhoods within the City, the preparation and adoption of the City’s Comprehensive Plan in 2006, and the comprehensive rewrite of the City’s Zoning Ordinance; and
WHEREAS the citizens of the City of Madison are fortunate to have had the benefit of Judy’s years of service on the Plan Commission, other boards and commissions and the Common Council, and the thousands of hours of time she volunteered to serve the citizens of Madison.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Madison Plan Commission thanks Judy Bowser for her years of service to the community while serving on the City’s Plan Commission and Common Council and wishes her the best of luck in her future endeavors.
