SECOND SUBSTITUTE Amending the 2011 Capital Budget for Engineering-Major Streets to fund the undergrounding of overhead utilities on Williamson Street (Blount Street to Paterson Street), increasing the budget authority for assessments for the reconstruction of Williamson Street and a Authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to execute agreements with MG&E, Charter Communications, AT&T, US Signal and TDS for undergrounding installation of conduit for the future undergrounding of overhead utilities on Williamson Street (Blount to Brearly). Body
WHEREAS there is currently $360,000 of available budget authority in Capital Project account 810358 for Engineering-Major Streets, Project 11, Atwood Avenue; and
WHEREAS the Atwood Avenue project will not proceed in 2011; and
WHEREAS the undergrounding of Williamson Street project requires the use of a portion of these funds in 2011; and
WHEREAS the Major Streets, Project 55, Williamson Street assessments were underestimated by $300,000;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the 2011 Capital Budget of Engineering-Major Streets, Project 55, Williamson Street, is hereby amended to provide an additional $1,000,000 in GO funding for undergrounding on Williamson Street; and to authorize an additional $300,000 of street construction funded by special assessments.
PREAMBLE
The City of Madison is proposing to install conduits on Williamson Street from Blount Street to South Thorton Avenue, RES-10-00903, adopted by the Common Council on 11-9-10 authorized a portion of the work. This resolution authorizes the additional work and funds to install all required laterals and design for the portion of Williamson Street from Blount Street to Brearly Street.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to execute agreements with MG&E, Charter Communications, AT&T, US Signal and TDS for undergrounding installation of conduit on Williamson Street (Blount to Brearly).
