DRAFTER'S ANALYSIS:  This ordinance establishes that all conveyances (e.g., elevators) required under Chapters 29 and 40, MGO, be maintained and operational at all times.  It provides an exception if the conveyance is undergoing routine testing or maintenance.

***********************************************************************************                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   The Common Council of the City of Madison do hereby ordain as follows:

Section 40.115 entitled "Conveyance Maintenance" of the Madison General Ordinances is hereby created to read:

"40.115 CONVEYANCE MAINTENANCE.  

All conveyances, required under this chapter or Chapter 29 of the Madison General Ordinances, shall be maintained and operational at all times.  Exceptions:

1.      When the conveyance is undergoing routine testing.

      2.    When the conveyance is undergoing routine maintenance."
