Authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to enter into a Purchase of Service agreement with Porchlight, Inc. to operate a Transit For Jobs & Economic Self Sufficiency program utilizing City of Madison Miscellaneous Appropriation funds as identified in the 2011 adopted operating budget.
Body
WHEREAS, the 2011 adopted operating budget provides $80,000 in Miscellaneous Appropriations for Transit services; and
 
WHEREAS, a Request For Proposals from not-for-profit agencies was developed and released to seek a provider(s) to manage community-based Transit for Jobs & Economic Self-Sufficiency programming in 2011; and
 
WHEREAS, on November 10, 2010 the Community Services Committee recommended these funds be awarded to Porchlight, Inc. and instructed staff to negotiate the details of a purchase of service agreement with Porchlight to implement and manage the program to achieve the City's goals.
 
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Community Services Committee recommends the City enter into a purchase of service contract with Porchlight, Inc. for up to $80,000 to implement and manage a community-based "Transit for Jobs & Economic Self Sufficiency" program for the period covering January 1, 2011 through December 31, 2011; and
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Clerk, through the Office of Community Services, are authorized to enter into a purchase of service agreement with Porchlight, Inc. to implement and manage a community-based "Transit for Jobs & Economic Self Sufficiency" program.
