Title
Authorizing the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute a Professional Services Agreement with Ruekert/Mielke of Waukesha, Wisconsin for the preparation of wellhead protection plans for Madison Water Utility unit wells 8, 13, and 19 (Citywide).
Body
WHEREAS, Madison Water Utility wishes to protect our valuable groundwater resource by developing wellhead protection plans for wells 8, 13, and 19; and
 
WHEREAS, Madison Water Utility has budgeted funds in its 2010 Budget for the preparation of wellhead protection plans; and
 
WHEREAS, Madison Water Utility has completed and gained Wisconsin DNR approval for eleven well head protection plans and it is in the Utility's best interest to move forward with wellhead protection plans for wells 8, 13, and 19; and
 
WHEREAS, Madison Water Utility has received six (6) comprehensive consultant proposals for the work, and based on a thorough evaluation of qualifications, has selected Ruekert/Mielke of Waukesha, Wisconsin to complete the plans as detailed in the negotiated Professional Services Agreement and associated Scope of Services for the 2010 Wellhead Protection Study - Contract B;
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and the City Clerk are authorized to execute a Professional Services Agreement with Ruekert/Mielke not to exceed $46,000 for the preparation of wellhead protection plans for utility wells No. 8, 13, and 19.
