DRAFTER'S ANALYSIS: Although the language is drafted generally to apply to any person who has obtained a Street Use Permit pursuant to Sec. 10.056, MGO, this exception is being proposed specifically to facilitate the MDA Fill the Boot charity fundraiser, and therefore should be considered at the same time as the related Resolution (Legistar File ID No.19843).
The exception proposed in this ordinance may raise broader policy questions for the City to consider, such as how to distinguish between future requests for street use permits for other types of fundraising activities.

The Common Council of the City of Madison do hereby ordain as follows:
Subsection (1) of Section 12.325 entitled “Solicitation on Highway Prohibited” of the Madison General Ordinances is amended to read as follows:
