Costs associated with this double fill total approximately $26,900, including benefits, and will be accommodated by the management of the Water Utility's salary savings. No additional appropriation is required.

Double fill authorization of Engineer 2, Limited term employment in Water Utility.
Body
WHEREAS, the incumbent Peter Holmgren Engineer 2 was hired as a Limited Term replacement for Tammy Buss, Engineer 2 who was transferred to Engineering to work on special projects within that department; and
WHEREAS, Tammy Buss, Engineer 2 has completed her work in Engineering and has returned to the Water Utility effective May 20, 2010; and
WHEREAS, Peter Holmgren Engineer 2 Limited Term to complete numerous projects in which he has been the lead person since the onset; and
WHEREAS, the funding for this expenditure is available in the Water Utility 2010 Operating Budget; and
WHEREAS, the Water Utility is requesting in their 2011 Operating Budget, a permanent position of Engineer 2; and
WHEREAS, MGO 3/53 (6)(h) states "The Human Resources Director, with the approval of the Mayor, and of the Common Council if the action requires the expenditure of more that $2,000 and/or is for longer than 30 days, is authorized to double-fill any position for a period not to exceed forty-five (45) calendar days unless such period is extended by action of the Common Council."; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the double filling of the Engineer 2 position is approved for the period September 1, 2010 through December 31, 2010.
