PREAMBLE
The City of Madison has contracted with MG&E to under ground the overhead utility lines on W. Gilman Street from University Avenue to N. Henry Street (approved under legistar file number 18672). MG&E will under ground their overhead lines and the existing poles will be removed. The City of Madison will fund the cost to under ground the facilities.
The costs to underground the utilities on the 400 block of have increased by $85,000. The rewiring of the electrical facilities in the older buildings on the 400 block have encountered unforeseen difficulties.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Common Council hereby authorizes the Mayor and City Clerk to execute an amendment to the agreement with MG&E for the under grounding of overhead utilities on W. Gilman Street
