Mid Plains Telephone Company, part of TDS Telecom Inc. will be extending its fiber optic network within the City of Madison beginning in June and ending in November 2010. This work is being done to expand the Mid Plains Telephone Company fiber optic network and provide additional service opportunities for the customers of Madison, WI.

Body

There will be a public hearing on this project on July 7th, 2010 at 5:30 p.m. in Room 108, in the City County Building, 210 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Madison, WI                       

An approved City of Madison contractor will be hired by Mid Plains Telephone Company to install the buried fiber optic cable within Right of Way limits in numerous locations in the West Towne area.

This project will include the areas from the intersection of Old Sauk RD and North West field Rd North on West field Rd. to Sawmill RD. East on Sawmill to North Gammon South on Gammon to Old Sauk Rd. East on Old Sauk to Sauk Ridge Trail North on Sauk Ridge Trail to Schlough Court.  In addition the area between Schlough Court and North Gammon Rd. will also be included.

Restoration of any damage within right of way will be completed in accordance to the City of Madison's standard specifications. Any damaged sidewalk slabs will be replaced with 5" lift concrete. All damage done to grass will be restored with a four inch covering of black dirt and seed specified by the City of Madison.  All restoration required within the traveled portion of the roadway will also be completed in accordance to the City of Madison's standard specifications.   If any persons have additional questions or concerns regarding this project please call Garin Mayer of TDS Telecom at 608 664 4889 or the City of Madison, Civil  Engineer lll, LeAnne Hannan at 608 266 4057.
