Title
Authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Dane County Regional Airport for the purpose of clarifying stormwater requirements and responsibilities in the area surrounding the Dane County Regional Airport.
Body
WHEREAS, The Dane County Regional Airport holds a separate WPDES stormwater discharge permit from the WDNR; and
WHEREAS, The WDNR has reviewed and approved a stormwater management plan for the airport; and
WHEREAS, The City of Madison is not responsible for the stormwater treatment occurring on Airport lands covered by this plan; and
WHEREAS, The WDNR approval was done in conjunction with comments and concerns brought up by City Engineering Staff; and
WHEREAS, City Engineering staff need not duplicate work already completed by the WDNR with regard to review of a stormwater management plan to cover existing and proposed public airport improvement projects.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council of the City of Madison authorizes the Mayor and City Clerk to execute a Memorandum of Understanding with the Dane County Regional Airport to approve a stormwater management plan for the Airport facilities as outlined in a report submitted to the WDNR and City dated October 2009.
