The 2010 Public Health Operating Budget will be amended as noted below. There is no anticipated impact upon cost controls or the tax levy.
Title
Amending the 2010 Public Health Operating Budget to allow for the carryforward and expenditure of 2009 grants and designated donations.
Body
WHEREAS Public Health-Madison and Dane County received grant funding and the donation of designated funds in 2009 and did not use all of those funds in 2009;
NOW THEREFORE, these funds are carried forward to the 2010 Operating Budget as follows:
Give Kids a Smile
WHEREAS Public Health-Madison and Dane County operates a program to link school-age children needing comprehensive dental care with local dentists who are willing to provide these services at no charge;
WHEREAS private donations were received designated for Give Kids a Smile;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the 2010 Operating Budget for Public Health-Madison and Dane County is amended by the following amounts:

Tobacco
WHEREAS Public Health-Madison and Dane County received a grant in 2008 from the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services for Tobacco Prevention;
WHEREAS there is $6,260 remaining from the 2009 grant and this can be carried forward into 2010;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that that the 2010 Operating Budget for Public Health-Madison and Dane County is amended by the following amounts:

Radon
WHEREAS Public Health-Madison and Dane County received a grant in 2009 from the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services for radon prevention for $5,950,

Well Woman Program Treatment Access Fund
WHEREAS the grant from the Susan G. Komen Foundation for the Cure grant to Public Health-Madison and Dane County Well Woman Well program is for the term April 1, 2009 through March 31, 2010;
WHEREAS $58,087 remains in the Treatment Access Fund to be spent on breast screening and support services;

WHEREAS Public Health-Madison and Dane County has been one of the agencies involved in the investigation of infant mortality in Dane County,
WHEREAS two private donations were received to cover community forums and targeted focus groups as part of the investigation of health disparities on birth outcomes,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the 2010 Operating Budget for Public Health-Madison and Dane County is amended by the following amounts:
