Title
Authorizing the Common Council to accept ownership from Capitol Neighborhoods Inc. of decorative garden plantings located at three existing neighborhood entrance sign sites located on City-owned lands, in the Bassett Neighborhood area.
Body
WHEREAS, Capitol Neighborhoods Inc. received permission from the City to install three neighborhood entrance signs, by way of Resolution ID No. 28944 approved by the Common Council on March 6, 2001; and
WHEREAS, The Capitol Neighborhoods Inc. wish to installed decorative gardens at the three existing neighborhood entrance sign sites, located at:
a) Intersection of Broom Street and John Nolen Drive - City Engineering parcel
b) Intersection of Proudfit Street and West Main Street - City Parks parcel
c) Intersection of South Bassett Street and West Washington Street - City Engineering parcel;
As shown on Attached Exhibit A; and
WHEREAS, Capitol Neighborhoods Inc. has agreed to perform maintenance of the decorative garden plantings, and watering and weeding of the garden areas; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineering and Park Divisions have conditionally approved of the garden designs, plant species, and placement of the plantings; and
WHEREAS, the Privilege in Streets Committee has reviewed this request and approved it with conditions; and
WHEREAS, Capitol Neighborhoods Inc will transfer ownership of the decorative garden plantings to the City after they have been installed, in exchange for the ongoing maintenance of these decorative garden plantings by Capitol Neighborhoods Inc.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Common Council of the City of Madison accepts ownership, from Capitol Neighborhoods Inc., of decorative garden plantings to be located around three existing neighborhood entrances signs located at:
a) Intersection of Broom Street and John Nolen Drive
b) Intersection of Proudfit Street and West Main Street
c) Intersection of South Bassett Street and West Washingto...
