This Agreement requires the Police Department to pay the costs associated with telephone and internet services only; no rent will be charged for the use of the space.  Funding is included in the Police Department's Operating Budget.

SUBSTITUTE.  Authorizing the Chief of Police to sign a renewal agreement with Future Madison Wexford, Inc. (managed by Meridian Group, Inc.) for use of office space for Wexford Ridge Neighborhood officer at 7011 Flower Lane.
Body
WHEREAS, the West District of the Police Department has an agreement with Future Madison Wexford, Inc. (managed by Meridian Group, Inc.)  for use of office space for the Wexford Ridge Neighborhood officer at 7011 Flower Lane and this agreement is going to expire on May 14, 2010;  and
WHEREAS,  under this agreement the police department does not pay any rent but is responsible for certain fees such as internet and phone; and
WHEREAS,  the office space is also shared with the  City-County Health Department and Dane County's Joining Forces for Families; and
WHEREAS,  the police department wishes to renew this agreement for up to three renewal periods of one (1) year each;
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council authorizes renewal of the Use Agreement with Future Madison Wexford, Inc., Dane County Joining Forces for Families and the Board of Health for Madison and Dane County as described above for three (3) automatic renewal periods of one (1) year each; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chief of Police is authorized to sign such renewal(s) on behalf of the City, provided that the form of the renewal agreement(s) are approved by the City Attorney, and Risk Manager, and Office of Real Estate Services.
