This proposed contract with BT Squared, Inc. will not exceed $ 80,000. Funds for this project are included in the 2010 Water Utility Capital Budget for Zone 4 Fire Flow Supply Augmentation.
Title
Authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to execute a contract with BT Squared, Inc. for engineering services for a well siting study for Madison Water Utility Pressure Zone 4 (15th and 16th AD).
Body
WHEREAS, the approved 2006 Madison Water Utility Master Plan identified a need for improved fire protection and water supply redundancy in the Water Utility Pressure Zone 4; and
WHEREAS, Madison Water Utility verified the need for this project and conducted a public participation process that included the formation of a Citizen's Advisory Panel, and, following a public hearing on March 24, 2009, the Water Utility Board voted to establish a project; and
WHEREAS, Madison Water Utility prepared an evaluation report on the project that recommended drilling a new well, and, following a public hearing on December 15, 2009, the Water Utility Board voted to approve the recommendation; and
WHEREAS, Madison Water Utility has budgeted funds in the 2010 Capital Budget for site selection, property purchase, and water quality analysis for this project; and
WHEREAS, Madison Water Utility has received and evaluated seven proposals for this work;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to execute a contract with BT Squared, Inc. not to exceed $ 80,000 for site selection, analysis, recommendation, and permitting for a new well site to serve Madison Water Utility Pressure Zone 4.
