Title
Amending Sec. 23.32(2) of the Madison General Ordinances to add Demetral Field and the McCormick Avenue Greenway as off-leash dog parks.
Body
DRAFTER'S ANALYSIS: This ordinance adds portions of Demetral Field and the McCormick Avenue Greenway (located west of McCormick Ave., north of Commercial Ave., east of Starkweather Creek and Southwest of Aberg Ave.), as permissible off-leash dog parks. These new areas will be posted and fenced. City Engineering has approved the use of both areas for use as dog parks as Demetral Field is a Madison Sewer Utility parcel, and the McCormick Avenue Greenway is a Stormwater Utility parcel. In addition, the State Department of Natural Resources has approved the use of Demetral Field, a former landfill site, as a dog park.
