This resolution authorizes amendment of the 2010 Fleet Service Capital and Operating Budgets contingent upon receipt of grant funding for certain vehicles. The Capital Budget would be amended by $225,000 for the purchase of 3 heavy duty diesel-electric vehicles at $75,000 each. The Operating Budget would be amended by $24,000 for the purchase of 8 light duty gasoline-electric vehicles at $2,000 each, and 4 neighborhood electric vehicles at $2,000 each. There is no anticipated impact upon the tax levy or General Obligation Debt.

Body
WHEREAS, the Mayor and the City Clerk sign a Contract with the State of Wisconsin Office of Energy Independence for the incremental funding difference between the cost of a conventional vehicle and a vehicle of Advanced Technology design. Advanced Technology Design will include diesel/hybrid electric trucks, gasoline/hybrid electric cars, and Neighborhood Electric vehicles. All vehicles purchased under this agreement must meet the user agency needs and requirements as a replacement vehicle. Funding in the amount of $249,000 is provided by the U.S. Department of Energy American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. This funding is for up to: 3 heavy-duty diesel electric hybrid vehicles ($75,000 each), 8 light duty gasoline electric vehicles ($2,000 each), and 4 neighborhood electric vehicles ($2,000 each). Matching funds are contained in the Fleet Service 2010 budget.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the 2010 Fleet Service Capital Budget be amended by up to $225,000 to accept the grant monies for the purchase of vehicles and,
