Commending, honoring, and expressing thanks to Nina Buske for her 42 years of dedicated service to the City of Madison, the Madison Department of Public Health, and to the newly merged Department, Public Health-Madison and Dane County
Body
WHEREAS Nina Buske is retiring on December 11, 2009 after 42 years of service to the City of Madison. Nina began her career on June 11, 1968 as a Clerk Typist II. She has worked with Public Health all of those years, most recently as an Administrative Clerk II;

WHEREAS Nina’s willingness to undertake any tasks assigned to her made her a valuable part of Public Health. She has consistently strived to meet every deadline in a professional way, demonstrating a “can do” attitude; she has been reliable and dependable in accomplishing and completing the tasks required of her.

WHEREAS Nina has served as Payroll Clerk, provided administrative support for the Public Health Laboratory, performed a variety of accounting duties and helped with financial and grant reporting; she has been an integral part of the preparation of the Department’s annual budget;

WHEREAS, she has interacted with the public and answered questions about the Department's water testing program and has faithfully prepared the monthly Water Utility reports. She has performed data entry for all food samples and pool samples, and issued pool warning and closure letters as required.

WHEREAS she has taken on some of the Department’s most complex tasks-preparing the Mileage Report and processing the Absence from the City and Trip Settlement forms;

WHEREAS, Nina volunteered as the Department’s co-Coordinator of the Combined Campaign for many years;

WHEREAS, Nina will be remembered as a dedicated public servant who by her actions demonstrated to other employees what it means to provide excellent customer service to our clients as well as to our Public Health Madison and Dane County staff. She will be greatly missed by her colle...
