Title
Reclassifying the existing position of Facilities Services Manager (Position #649) in Engineering as an Engineer 3, and reallocating the incumbent to the new classification and pay range.

Body
WHEREAS the 2009 Adopted Operating Budget included a proposal to reduce levy support through a reassignment of the Facilities Services Manager (a Mechanical Engineer) to perform mechanical design duties which could be charged to capital projects; and

WHEREAS this change in duties effectively meant that the existing classification would no longer be appropriate; and

WHEREAS a study by the Human Resources department in 2009 concluded that an Engineer 3 classification would be most appropriate;

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that position #649 of "Facilities Services Manager" in Compensation Group 18, Range 11, in the permanent salary detail of the Engineering Division budget is deleted and recreated as an "Engineer 3" in Compensation Group 18, Range 10.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the incumbent (P. Stauffer) be reallocated to the new position with his salary retained (red-circled) at his current salary until such time that the new range is adjusted to incorporate further salary increases, consistent with governing Personnel Rules.
