Authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to execute an amendment to the lease with Community Action Coalition of South Central Wisconsin, Inc. allowing for the expansion of the community gardens site located within Reindahl Park at 1818 Portage Road.
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Madison, as the lessor, and Community Action Coalition of South Central Wisconsin, Inc. ("CAC"), as the lessee, are parties to a lease dated June 15, 2000 pertaining to CAC's use of approximately 1.7 acres of land located within Reindahl Park at 1818 Portage Road for community gardening purposes; and
 
WHEREAS, CAC desires to expand the leased premises to include 25,200 square feet (.58 acre) of adjacent additional  land within Reindahl Park; and
 
WHEREAS, City of Madison Parks Division staff has reviewed and approves of the expansion of the leased premises; and
WHEREAS, the City of Madison Office of Real Estate Services has prepared an amendment to the lease for such purpose, and CAC has reviewed and approves of the amendment.
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to execute an amendment to the existing lease with Community Action Coalition of South Central Wisconsin, Inc., dated June 15, 2000, pertaining to lands within Reindahl Park, as follows:
 
1.      The leased premises shall be expanded to include the approximately .58-acre area designated as the "Expansion Area" on attached Exhibit A.
 
2.      All other terms and conditions of the lease shall remain in full force and effect.
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute, deliver and record such documents and to take such other actions as shall be necessary or desirable to accomplish the purposes of this Resolution.
