This resolution will authorize a three year contract with two one-year options that provides for the reimbursement by MATC for access by MATC students to Metro Transit fixed route and ADA paratransit service.  Anticipated revenue of $499,200 was included in the 2009 Metro operating budget and $510,100 is included in the 2010 budget.  Fixed route rides will be billed at $1.10 per ride for the 2009/2010 academic year and $1.15 per ride for subsequent years covered under this agreement with a minimum and maximum of +/- 8% over the previous year's actual ridership.

Body
WHEREAS, Madison Area Technical College and Metro Transit have had a successful and productive contracting arrangement for an unlimited ride pass program for MATC students for years, and both parties wish to extend their agreement; and
 
WHEREAS, the parties have negotiated specifications which meet all Transit and Parking Commission criteria set in advance for ride pass programs,
 
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Clerk are authorized to enter into an agreement with Madison Area Technical College for the purpose of providing a student unlimited ride pass program for the three year term of the agreement with two one-year options with reimbursement by MATC to the Transit Utility for student trips during academic years 2009-2010, 2010-2011, and 2011-2012 (and 2012-2013 and 2013-2014 if the options are exercised).
