Body
PREAMBLE

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WDOT) has prepared the plans and specifications for the extension of Bartillon Drive from the current termination point just north of Kinsman Blvd to Portage Road. The project will also include the closure of the existing median opening at Pierstorff Street.

The project on Bartillon Drive includes the construction of an urban roadway with curb and gutter, bikelanes, sidewalk, and storm drainage.

The Bartillon Drive connection will provide a new alternative access to USH 51 for residents in the area surrounding Portage Road. The roadway will allow traffic to access USH 51 at a traffic signal. Previously, traffic accessing USH 51 did so at the non-signalized intersection at Rieder Road.

The closure of the median on USH 51 at Pierstorff Street will allow the construction of a more formal street connection from the west in the current Pierstorff Street right of way. This connection is important to business in the Truax area.

As a component of the project, the WDOT will also construct sidewalk along the west side of Portage Road from Bartillon Drive to Rieder Road.

All of these improvements will benefit both the WDOT and the City by providing good safe access to USH 51.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the plans and specifications for Bartillon Drive (Kinsman Boulevard to Portage Road) are hereby approved, and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to enter into agreements with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for Bartillon Drive (Kinsman Boulevard to Portage Road).
