Body

WHEREAS: For the mutual benefit of the City of Madison and the City of Fitchburg in the case of a water supply emergency, an Interconnection of Municipal Water Systems Agreement has been negotiated and agreed to in principle by the Cities; and

WHEREAS: the proposed interconnection will be constructed in conjunction with Madison Water Utility's proposed Cannonball pipeline and will be located at the intersection of the Cannonball Bike Path and Seminole Highway; and

WHEREAS: The City of Fitchburg has executed the Agreement on September 1, 2009

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Clerk be and are hereby authorized and directed to enter into an Agreement for the Interconnection of Municipal Water Systems between the City of Madison and the City of Fitchburg.
