Title
Accepting ownership of the artwork/sculpture "community" located in the plaza of the Revival Ridge Apartments at the corner of Allied Drive and Jenewein Road.
Body
WHEREAS the Madison Arts Commission's mission is to fund artistic activities and initiate cultural programs that integrate, support, and advance arts and culture as an essential part of life in Madison; and
WHEREAS the Common Council adopted Resolution number 09-00160, ID number 12894 on February 4, 2009 authorizing the Mayor and the City Clerk to enter into a contract, not to exceed $30,500, with Zillman Advertising, for expenses related to the design and creation of two-dimensional and three-dimensional Public Art Work and Community Identity Imagery for the Allied Redevelopment Project; and
WHEREAS one of the conditions of the contract requires that upon completion of the sculpture and other documentation being submitted by the artist, that the City of Madison will accept ownership of the sculpture; and
WHEREAS the sculpture has been completed and the required documentation has been filed with the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Madison hereby accepts ownership of "Community."
