Approval to accept a Homeland Security Metropolitan Medical Response System 2008 grant for $321,221.
Body
The City of Madison Fire Department has received notification from the State of Wisconsin Office of Justice Assistance as to the award of a grant for the Metropolitan Medical Response System (MMRS) in the amount of $321,221.  The grant covers preparing for response to Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) and mass casualty incidents.
 
The grant covers the metropolitan area which includes Dane County.  The focus areas for this program are interoperable communications, medical supplies, training, exercises, mass care, resource data bases, pharmeceutical supplies, Medical Reserve Corp Program, development of a Medical Health Response Team , surge planning and patient tracking.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council approve acceptance of this Homeland Security Program grant award from the Wisconsin Office of Justice Assistance for the MMRS Program; and
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor, Clerk and other designated City officials are authorized to execute the award documents.
 
BE IT STILL FURTHER RESOLVED, that Council adopts the grant  budget.
