Fiscal Note
This Resolution will transfer $9,000 in Federal CDBG funds to the City Parks Division for improvements in Hammersley Park. A net of $13,000 had previously been transferred, but no budget authority had been provided in the Parks capital budget for the expenditures. This Resolution will amend the Parks Division 2009 capital budget to provide the appropriate $22,000 in expenditure authority. No additional appropriaiton is required.

WHEREAS, On December 4, 2007, the Common Council Adopted Enactment No. RES 07-01134 which authorized the provision of $120,000 in CDBG funds for improvement projects for the South West area neighborhoods as part of the implementation of the South West Neighborhood Plan in a manner that address City Community and Neighborhood Objectives; $20,000 of this funding was allocated to the City Parks Division for improvements at Hammersley Park; and

WHEREAS, on September 2, 2008, the Common Council Adopted Enactment No. RES 08-00818 which authorized the reallocation of CDBG funds for the South West area neighborhoods to reduce the $20,000 funding to City Parks Division by $7,000 for a pathway and safety improvement project at Hammersley Park, and provide a corresponding increase of $7,000 to Community Action Coalition for the development of a community garden at Hammersley Park; and

WHEREAS, on July 30, 2009, the CDBG Committee was advised and approved the allocation of an additional $9,000 of CDBG funds to City Parks Division to address unforeseen accessibility improvements required for the completion of the pathway project in Hammersley Park; and

WHEREAS, the 2009 Parks Division Capital Budget Parks Paving project does not currently include expenditure authority for this project;
