Title: To amend the 2009 Parks Division Capital Budget to include reimbursement from the insurance fund for the replacement of playground equipment at Sauk Heights Park destroyed by a fire. (9th AD)
Sponsors: Paul E. Skidmore, Joseph R. Clausius
Fiscal Note
The budget amendment contained in this resolution allows for the replacement of playground equipment and surfacing at Sauk Heights Park. Total costs will include $2,200 for removal of burned surface and equipment, $34,890 for the replacement of burned equipment, and $6,980 for installation of new equipment. Insurance proceeds will cover these items, less a $500 deductible, for a total of $2,200 + $34,890 + $6,980 -$500 = $43,570. Remaining costs of $8,700 related to replacement of shredded rubber with a fabric barrier, plus the aforementioned $500 deductible will not be covered by insurance reimbursement. A total of $8,700 + $500 = $9,200 will therefore be covered by existing Parks Division Capital funds. Project #12, “Specific Park Improvements,” of the 2009 Parks Capital Budget would therefore be amended by the following amounts:

CE60-54301-810405 $43,570
CE60-79475-810405 ($43,570)
