Amending Sec. 31.04(2)(a) of the Madison General Ordinances to correct references to state laws as they relate to signs within 660 feet of certain interstate highways.

DRAFTER'S ANALYSIS: This ordinance makes a correction to clarify the relationship between the City’s sign ordinance and state laws that govern signs visible from interstate highways. TRANS 200 only applies to signs on highway right-of-way and need not be referenced in this section, and only certain parts of TRANS 201 are applicable within the City. This amendment preserves the original intent of this section.

Subdivision (a) entitled “Signs Located Near Interstate Highways” of Subsection (2) entitled “Application of Other Laws” of Section 31.04 entitled “Administration, Enforcement, and Construction Requirements” of the Madison General Ordinances is amended to read as follows:
