No signficant impact on General Fund revenues is anticipated. Tickets will continue to be issued, but as violations of State Statute rather than City Ordinance.

DRAFTER'S ANALYSIS: This ordinance is being repealed because the Wisconsin Legislature has recently adopted Wis. Stat. § 346.94(20) Opening Motor Vehicle Door on Highway and therefore the statute would supersede the City ordinance. The City will adopt this statute by MGO 12.011 and issue violations under the statute.

The Common Council of the City of Madison do hereby ordain as follows:
1. Section 12.26 entitled “Opening Vehicle Doors” of the Madison General Ordinances is hereby repealed.
2. Subdivision (a) of Subsection (3) entitled “Schedule of Deposits” of Section 1.08 entitled “Issuance of Citations for Violations of Certain Ordinances and Providing a Schedule of Cash Deposits” of the Madison General Ordinances is amended by amending therein following:
