Fiscal Note
No funds have been budgeted for new Adult School Crossing Guards. The estimated salary and fringe benefit cost of the new assignment for the remainder of 2009 is $2,915. Funds are available in the Contingent Reserve for appropriation to the Police Department. The current balance of the Contingent Reserve is $942,510. There is no impact on the tax levy or State Expenditure Restraint Program eligibility limits.

Body
WHEREAS, Traffic Engineering staff have studied and reviewed crossing conditions for elementary school aged students crossing Thornton Avenue at Jenifer Street in front of Marquette Elementary school; and
WHEREAS, it was found that this location meets adopted City Criteria for assignment of Adult School Crossing Guards; and
WHEREAS, the Pedestrian/Bicycle/Motor Vehicle Commission approved this new Adult School Crossing Guard assignments at its May 26, 2009 meeting; and
WHEREAS, funds have not been budgeted for new Adult School Crossing Guard assignments.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that $2,915 be appropriated from the Contingent Reserve to the Police Department's 2009 budget to pay for this additional Adult School Crossing Guard for August - December, 2009 with the funds being appropriated to:
