Fiscal Note
This two-year agreement (with options for summer service) provides for the reimbursement by Edgewood College for free access by Edgewood students and employees to Metro Transit for fixed route and ADA paratransit services pursuant to the TPC-approved unlimited ride pass fare tariff. Metro will bill Edgewood $1.10 per ride for the 2009-2010 academic year and $1.15 per ride for the 2010-2011 academic year. If the option for summer service is chosen, any summer rides that overlap into the valid dates of the Fall Semester Pass of the following academic year will be billed at the higher rate. Paratransit rides will be billed at the rate of the applicable peak or off-peak ADA paratransit fare in the TPC-approved fare tariff at the time the ride is taken. Metro Transit estimates that the contract will result in increased 2009 revenues of $3,256, and 2010 revenues of $70,400 (to be included in Metro's 2010 operating budget).

WHEREAS, Edgewood College and Metro Transit have had a successful and productive contracting arrangement for an unlimited ride pass program for Edgewood College students and employees in the past, and both parties wish to extend their agreement for a two-year period;

WHEREAS, the parties have negotiated specifications which meet all Transit and Parking Commission criteria set in advance for unlimited ride pass agreements;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and the City Clerk are authorized to enter into an agreement with Edgewood College for the purpose of providing an unlimited ride pass program for the 2009-2010 and 2010-2011 academic years (with options for summer service), with reimbursement by Edgewood to the Transit Utility for stu...
