Authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to enter into an agreement with KL Engineering, Inc. for design engineering services for University Avenue from Allen Boulevard to Segoe Road. (AD. 11 &19)
Body
WHEREAS, The City of Madison, Dane County, City of Middleton and Village of Shorewood Hills have proposed a joint project to reconstruct University Avenue from Allen Boulevard to Segoe Road. The City of Madison will be the lead agency for this project. The existing pavement is in poor condition and in need of reconstruction. The construction cost of the improvement will be financed with 50 percent Federal/State funds and 50 percent local funds. The design cost will be funded with 100% local funds.
A purchase order will be issued prior to execution of the agreement with the design consultant in order to proceed as quickly as possible.
Pursuant to City Ordinances and Policies, the City Engineer advertised for consultant proposals, reviewed the submitted proposals, and recommends the design engineering contract be awarded to KL Engineering, Inc.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute an agreement with KL Engineering, Inc. for design engineering services for University Avenue from Allen Boulevard to Segoe Road.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute agreements with Dane County, City of Middleton and Village of Shorewood Hills for cost sharing for the design of University Avenue from Allen Boulevard to Segoe Road.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Purchasing Agent is authorized to issue a Purchase Order in the amount of $25,000 to KL Engineering, Inc. for design services
