The cost to provide, install and maintain three (3) monitoring buoys from June 1,2009 to November 1, 2009 is $4,000.00. City's cost of Funds have been provided in the Storm Water Utility Budget account number ESTM-54950-563245-00-53W0822.

Authorizing the Purchasing Agent to enter into a purchase order agreement with the University of Wisconsin College of Engineering to complete water level monitoring on Lake Mendota and the Upper Yahara River via Purchase Order.
Body
WHEREAS, as part of the on going effort to better manage the Yahara Chain of Lakes, the City of Madison has agreed to create a hydrologic and hydrodynamic model of both the lakes and of the series of bridges on the Upper Yahara River at STH 113; and
WHEREAS, the City of Madison Engineering Division has been working with the University of Wisconsin Madison Engineering Department on the lake modeling effort; and
WHEREAS, the University of Wisconsin Madison Engineering Department has the ability to provide, operate and report on lake level monitoring buoys in a cost effective manner; and
WHEREAS, the City of Madison has partnered with the UW Engineering Department on other aspects of the lake level modeling effort;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Purchasing Agent is authorized to enter into a Purchase Order Agreement with the University of Wisconsin Madison Engineering Department to provide, operate and maintain a series of three (3) lake level monitoring buoys in the area of the crossing of the Upper Yahara River with STH 113.
