Approving plans and specifications and authorizing the Board of Public Works to advertise and receive bids for John Nolen Path Rehabilitation - 2010, Contract No. 6279. (13th AD)

Preamble
The City of Madison plans to rehabilitate the John Nolen Path (a segment of the Capital City Trail) from North Shore Drive extending approximately 1,000 feet south, specifically to restore path grades to ADA compliance, improve safety at approaches to two bridges and to increase usable bike width on both bridges. The City also proposes to realign approximately 280 feet of the path near Lakeside Street to improve safety at the intersection.
For efficiency of traffic control and construction, this path work will be combined into a single construction contract with street work on the John Nolen Drive Bridge approaches which is addressed in a separate Resolution, ID No. 16947.
BE IT RESOLVED,
1) That the plans and specifications for John Nolen Path Rehabilitation - 2010, be and are hereby approved.
2) That the Board of Public Works be and is hereby authorized to advertise and receive bids for said project.
3) That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to accept dedication of lands and/or easements from the Developer/Owner for public improvements located outside of existing public fee title or easement right-of-ways.
