Title
Authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk to execute a contract for construction by City forces with WDOT for supplying and installing various signal materials, and approving indemnification of WDOT under this contract.
Body
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WDOT) will be reconstructing the eastbound Beltline on- and off-ramps as they intersect with Fish Hatchery Road. The existing traffic signal at this intersection, which is currently maintained by the City under contract with WDOT, will need to be changed. The City of Madison will furnish and install various traffic signal materials under an agreement with the WDOT. The agreement requires that the City indemnify WDOT. City APM1-1 requires Common Council approval whenever the City indemnifies another party and the funding by WDOT for these installations carries low risk and benefits the general public.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute a contract for construction by City forces with WDOT for supplying and installing various traffic signal materials and that the Common Council approves indemnification of WDOT under this contract.
