Authorizing the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute an Amendment to the contract between the City of Madison and Ayres Associates, Inc. for additional design engineering services for CTH M/Valley View Road Intersection and Pleasant View Road from Prairie Hill Road to CTH S. (9th AD)

PREAMBLE:
The City is proposing to construct a new street between the intersection of CTH M and Valley View Road and the intersection of existing Pleasant View Road and Mineral Point Road (CTH S). Design will be funded with 100% local funds and that portion of the project near the intersection of Valley View Road and CTH M will be funded with 80% federal funds, 20% local funds. Construction of the new street north to Mineral Point Road (CTH S) will be funded with 100% local funds. The City Engineer has entered into a design engineering contract with Ayres Associates, Inc. A portion of the project may also be eligible for Federal Stimulus Funds.
The City Engineer recommends that several additional design services be undertaken by Ayres Associates, Inc. They are:
1. Revise geometrics and preliminary plans for Pleasant View/Valley View/CTH M roundabout and finalize design to accomodate future expansion without reconstructing the entire roundabout.
2. Revise environmental assessment and other project development documents regarding changes in Pleasant View/Valley View/CTH M roundabout.
3. Revise environmental assessment of southbound lanes on Pleasant View Rd.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute an Amendment to the contract between the City of Madison and Ayres Associates, Inc. for additional design engineering services for CTH M/Valley View Road Intersection and Pleasant View Road from Prairie Hill Road to CTH S.
