The City of Madison is the owner of real estate designated as the 5th Addition adjacent to Sherman Avenue and legally described as Outlot 1 of Certified Survey Map No. 12293 and Outlot 1 of Certified Survey Map No. 12439 in Cherokee Marsh that had previously been farmland.  This property has been designated as a prairie restoration project in Cherokee Marsh Conservation Park.  The cost of seed and labor to apply the seed will be approximately $22,000.00.  Sufficient park development fees are available in the Citywide Parkland Impact Fee fund (SI32) for this development.  One of the allowable uses of park development fees is the development of new parklands.
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Parks Division's 2009 capital budget be amended to allow for this prairie restoration project in the sum of $22,000.
