No additional appropriation is required. The Parks Division 2009 Adopted Capital Budget contains funding for the Tenney Park Shelter. (See 2009 Capital Budget, page 288, Project #15). Existing budgetary authority is considered sufficient to cover the architectural fees.

PREAMBLE
On January 6, 2009 the Common Council adopted the above referenced Resolution, ID#12533 , to authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to enter into a $110,000 contract with Plunkett Raysich Architects for architectural and engineering design services to complete the construction of the Tenney Park Shelter. Since that time the architect has provided a complete fee breakdown on the services and associated costs that totals $147,500. It is therefore necessary to amend the Resolution to authorize an additional $37,500 in the contract to provide that architect fees shall not exceed $147,500.

The City budgeted for the project in its 2009 Capital Budget funded with $500,000 of GO debt and $700,000 of donated funds. To complete the shelter construction project scheduled for 2009 as a Public Works Project the architect should be under contract to the City, and can be paid out of the 2009 budgeted amount.

The total estimated costs for all expenses related to architectural and engineering design fees, construction testing services, utility connection fees, printing costs, construction bidding, and similar direct project related expenditures is $248,000. The most recent estimate of probable construction cost is $1,660,241 for building construction with additional optional material upgrades in the amount of $422,228.
